There are three DIFFERENT passages each DIFFERENTIATED at three DIFFERENT reading levels. There are two nonfiction texts and one fiction text. Each text comes with 10 text dependent questions, a writing prompt, graphic organizers, and a mystery grid picture.

❶ "The Drop" a fiction passage about a child that is experiencing the Times Square Ball Drop with her Dad.
❷ "New Year's Day Around the World" an informational passage about how a new year is celebrated differently depending on which part of the world you are form
❸ "The History of New Year's Day" an informational passage about the history of the calendar and how New Year's Day came to be celebrated.
