Figurative language is a fun way to incorporate a variety of holidays and celebrations into the classroom. By using a range of figurative language examples, students can learn about holidays they might be less familiar with while also building excitement for the holidays they personally celebrate.

In this post, we’ll focus on the December holidays. Although we didn’t have time to cover every December holiday, we were able to concentrate on three: Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa.

The goal of this post is to provide a variety of figurative language examples that you can use in your classroom throughout December to both celebrate and recognize these holidays.
